Palliative care, simply stated, is highly specialized care for persons with a serious illness. While undergoing palliative care, patients find relief from symptoms, stress and pain of a serious illness. Quality of life is improved for both the patient and family as this care is provided by medical experts working together to provide support. Palliative Care is suited for persons of any age and at any stage of serious illness and is appropriate even for those receiving medical treatment which hold promise for being cured and returning to everyday life.
